Exhaust Systems

Hi everybody, got a quick little query here for you people. The stock exhaust tips on my '95 240 are shot to hell from shear age, so I'm in the market for a new exhaust system. I'm looking for something as inexpensive as possible (within reason, obviously) that'll help with performance and not be too loud and obnoxious (I freakin' hate loud 'look-at-me' mufflers).

Through some research I've found the Apex'i N1, and Blitz Nur systems, which appear to do what I want. Views, opinions on these? Anything better for less money?

Cheers.

I assume you are talking about a complete cat-back system, right? Well some of my fav. stores, www.projectnissan.com and www.phase2motortrend.com have most of the really good exhausts for good prices. As you are probably tired of hearing, you get what you pay for. I have a BLitz Nur Spec R on my S14 SR, and it sounds great, very deep, smooth, but still somewhat agressive at higher RPM, but never "snarly" or tin sounding, like a crappy weld on muffler. It is expensive, but well worth the $. The most impottant thing though, is that is is tougher than hell it has survived many dirft crashed without much morethan a little ding, even after being smacked into a curb at 50mph. Partially because it is 100% stainless. Tanabe are some pretty crazy sounding canisters, and my friend's GP sports is so lound, it probably not what you want. the A'pex N1 are cheap anough, but also sound funny. you can find URAS exhausts for surprisingly cheap, and they are good pieces, but definitely NOT quiet. I think they area good kind of loud, but you may not. Most of the Greddy exhausts are made to be pleasant in tone but still quiet, so I recommend one of those. Whatever you get, you probably don't want something that is straight-through canister style, sot a bif ole muffler like you have now, because those suck ass for any forced induction and don't relieve much backpressure. Whatever you do, don't just compromise and get a universal muffler, it will look and sound like total ass.

i would look into nismo stuff, it may be a litle more, but you are gonna get stuff designed for your car, right, the best sound, and performance, also check out magnaflow, their prices are reasonable, and with a name like that, you know u are gonna get good stuff right?? just don't buy an exhaust from a department store and u should be in good shape
